Top Trends When Styling Your Bed

Your bed isn’t just for sleeping in, it is also a key piece to your bedroom décor. Whether you use the bed to express your personality in a simplistic room, or to add to a brightly styled room, getting it right is important. The top interior trends have been outlined in our previous blog post, and we decided to go one step further and show you our own spin on the top trends for spring/summer 2018 with three Sofas & Stuff styled beds. Perfect inspiration for styling your bed.

At Sofas & Stuff, we have a gorgeous range of handmade beds that you can upholster in any fabric in the world. Let your vision come to life with our help. But for now, have a look at our three unique bed styles for inspiration.

Mixed Patterns

Our Portobello bed is upholstered here in our in-house fabric, Cloth ’18 ‘Daub’ Monsoon. We have styled this bed taking inspiration from the ‘well-travelled influences’ trend this year. The bed is styled with five decorative scatter cushions, and a heavily patterned throw. All five decorative cushions are in various designs from our Cloth ’18 range, which takes inspiration from colours and tiled prints around the world. Styled with a plain white duvet which results in the colours and patterns of the headboard and cushions to work together and creates an enduring and eye-catching focal for any room. The throw, which is not part of our Cloth ’18 range, goes beautifully with all the different patterns now being shown across the Portobello bed.

Come see the bed for yourself in our Fittleworth showroom, or alternatively find your nearest showroom to see a range of our other pieces of unique furniture.

The Unmade Bed

This style is an easy look, but beautiful and completely on-trend. The relaxed aesthetic plays with mixing textures and embracing the effortless and laid back qualities of linen. Our Arles king sized bed is upholstered in Romo Linara ‘Dusky Pink’, dressed with fresh linens and a gorgeous Andrew Martin Mossop Velvet Old Rose oversized cushion. The blush velvet of the cushion complements the pink linen that upholsters the bed while creating a balanced mix of tactile textures. The grey linen pillow cases pair perfectly with the blue-grey linen throw that lays loosely across the bottom of the bed to complete the “unmade” look.

Country Life Living

This country look is beautiful, rich and luxurious beyond our wildest dreams. Our beautiful Rouen high foot-end, king size bed in Scarborough Velvet is styled here with two large patterned velvet cushions, two gorgeous square Scarborough Velvet decorative cushions that match the headboard, and one red tartan cushion to complete the cushion tier. Strewn across the bed is a fluffy cream throw which makes the luxurious look complete. This bed is perfect for a country hotel but can be brought into any bedroom looking for grandeur and classic style. If you love it as much as we do, then use this as that bit of inspiration you’ve been looking for!
